Audio Output Settings

Adjust the system's audio output settings. These settings are mainly used when the system is connected to audio devices that support digital audio output, such as AV amplifiers (receivers) for home entertainment systems.

Confirm the formats supported by your audio device.
Settings vary depending on supported formats. For details, refer to the instructions supplied with the audio device.

Select (Sound Settings) under (Settings) in the home menu.

Select [Audio Output Settings].

Select the input connector on the audio device. Channel numbers and audio formats that are supported vary depending on the connector in use.

Audio from Super Audio CDs cannot be output from the system's digital out (optical) connector. Multi-channel content from Super Audio CDs can only be output from the HDMI OUT connector.

A device compatible with Linear PCM 7.1. Ch. is required to output 7.1 Ch. audio from the HDMI OUT connector.

The system does not support output from DTS-HD 7.1 Ch.
DTS-HD 7.1 Ch. audio is output from a 5.1 or lower channel.

Select audio output formats.
Select all output formats that are supported by the audio device in use. If [HDMI] is selected in step 4, you can select to set automatically. (In this case, the HDMI device must be turned on.)

Check your settings.
You can go back to the previous screen and revise the settings by pressing the left button.

7.

Save your settings.
The audio output settings are saved on the system.

Hint

If a device that is not compatible with the HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) standard is connected to the system using an HDMI cable, video and/or audio cannot be output from the system.
