Internet Connection Settings (wireless connection)

This setting is available only on PS3™ systems that are equipped with the wireless LAN feature.

1.

Check that the settings for the access point have been completed.

2.

Select (Network Settings) under (Settings) in the home menu.

3.

Select [Wired Connection] or [Wireless].
Adjust each item as necessary for the particular network environment in use. The items displayed vary depending on the settings you select.

5.

Select [Scan].
A list of access points within the range of the system is displayed.

An "SSID" is an identification name assigned to access points. If you do not know which SSID you are using or if an SSID is not displayed, contact the person who set up or maintains the access point for assistance.

7.

Check the SSID for the access point.

8.

Select the security method.
The types of security methods supported vary depending on the access point. Contact the person who set up or maintains the access point for assistance.

9.

Enter the encryption key.
The encryption key is displayed as a series of asterisks. If you do not know the encryption key, contact the person who set up or maintains the access point for assistance.

10.

Select [Easy].
Basic settings are automatically selected and a list of settings is displayed.

11.

Save your settings.

12.

Test the connection.
If you select [Test Connection], the system will attempt to connect to the Internet.

13.

Confirm the connection test results.
If a successful connection has been made, information on the network will be displayed.
