Types of files that can be played
The following types of files can be played under
(Video).
- Memory Stick Video Format
- - MPEG-4 SP (AAC LC)
- - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Main Profile (AAC LC)
- MPEG-1 (MPEG Audio Layer 2)
- MPEG-2 PS (MPEG2 Audio Layer 2, AAC LC, AC3(Dolby Digital), LPCM)
- MPEG-2 TS (MPEG2 Audio Layer 2)
- AVI
- - Motion JPEG (Linear PCM)
- - Motion JPEG (μ-Law)
- AVCHD (.m2ts)
Hints
- Some files cannot be played due to the data type.
- Some video files distributed over the Internet have playback restrictions. For details, contact the content provider.
- When using a USB adaptor to play video files, you may need to use a USB adaptor (not included) that supports copyright-protection features (to play copyright-protected files).
- Note the following points when playing AVCHD (.m2ts) format files.
- - To play files saved on a digital video camera (of a type that records to a hard drive) connected by a USB cable, you must select the
(USB Device (Camcorder)) icon, press the
button, and then select [Display All] from the options menu. - - To play files saved on storage media such as an SD Memory Card, select the icon for the storage media under
(Video), press the
button, and then select [Display All] from the options menu. - - The order in which video files are displayed on the XMB™ may differ from the order the videos were taken on the digital video camera.
- - Long duration video files (of file size 2 GB or more) are automatically divided and displayed as multiple scenes (files).
- - Dolby Digital 5.1 Ch audio is output using Linear PCM 2 Ch.
