Register Bluetooth® Device

Register a Bluetooth®-compatible device with the system.

Registering a BD remote control

1.

Prepare the BD remote control.

2.

Select (Accessory Settings) under (Settings) in the home menu.

3.

Select [Register Bluetooth® Device].

4.

Select [Register BD Remote Control].
Only one BD remote control can be registered at any given time. If you register another BD remote control, information on the currently registered device will be overwritten.

5.

Follow the on-screen instructions to register the BD remote control.
When the registration (pairing) is complete, a controller number is assigned.

Hints

  • When seven SIXAXIS™ wireless controllers are in use, you cannot register or use a BD remote control.
  • If you register the BD remote control with another PS3™ system, the device registration with the first PS3™ system will be cleared.
  • For detailed usage instructions for the BD remote control, refer to the instruction manual for the BD remote control.

Registering a headset

1.

Prepare the Bluetooth®-compatible headset and the pass key.
A "pass key" is a type of hardware ID used to register (pair) Bluetooth® devices. Some devices may not require a pass key. For more information, refer to the instructions supplied with the device.

2.

Select (Accessory Settings) under (Settings) in the home menu.

3.

Select [Register Bluetooth® Device].

4.

Select [Register Headset].
Only one headset can be registered at any given time. If you register another headset, information on the currently registered headset will be overwritten.

5.

Select [Start Scanning].
The PS3™ system displays a list of Bluetooth® devices within range of the system.

6.

Select the device that you want to register.
Enter the pass key to complete the device registration (pairing). You do not need to enter a pass key for devices that do not require one.

Registering a keyboard or mouse

1.

Prepare the Bluetooth®-compatible keyboard or mouse.

2.

Select (Accessory Settings) under (Settings) in the home menu.

3.

Select [Register Bluetooth® Device].

4.

Select [Register Keyboard/Mouse].
Up to two keyboard and mouse devices in total can be registered at one time. If you register another keyboard or mouse, information on the currently registered device with the oldest registration date and time will be overwritten.

5.

Select [Start Scanning].
The PS3™ system displays a list of Bluetooth® devices within range of the system.

6.

Select the device that you want to register.
If registering a keyboard, enter the pass key to complete the device registration (pairing). The PS3™ system randomly generates the pass key. If registering a mouse, you do not need to enter a pass key.
