5. |
Confirm that the USB connection is established between the PSP™ system and PS3™ system, and then select [OK]. |
Hints
- The USB cable used with the SIXAXIS™ wireless controller can be used to connect the PSP™ system to the PS3™ system.
- If you try to register a PSP™ system that is registered with another PS3™ system, the registration (pairing) with the first PS3™ system will be cleared.
Registered Device List
Display a list of PSP™ systems that are registered.
Hints
- A PSP™ system that was registered previously will be displayed on the list even if its registration (pairing) has been cleared. However a PSP™ system that has been cleared cannot be used. To use a PSP™ system for which the registration has been cleared for remote play, you must register it again.
- A PSP™ system that is no longer needed can be deleted from the list. Select the checkbox for the system that you want to delete, and then select [Delete].
Custom Connection Settings
This setting is available only on PS3™ systems that are equipped with the wireless LAN feature.
If a PSP™ system is registered with a PS3™ system that is equipped with the wireless LAN feature, a network connection for remote play with a specific SSID and encryption key (WPA key) is automatically created for both systems, and the systems will be able to communicate with each other in infrastructure mode. If you select [Custom Connection Settings], you can manually change the SSID and encryption key that are set on the PS3™ system. It is usually not necessary to adjust these settings.
| SSID | Set the SSID. You can enter any SSID that you like. |
|---|---|
| WLAN Security Setting | Set the security method. You can only select [WPA-PSK (AES)] for remote play settings. |
| WPA Key | Set an encryption key. You can enter any key that you like. The encryption key is displayed as a series of asterisks. You will need the key that you set here if you change the network connection for the PSP™ system. Make note of the key for future reference. |
Hint
If the SSID and WPA key are changed for the PS3™ system, the SSID and WPA key must also be changed to the same values for the network connection of the PSP™ system. Be sure to register the PSP™ system again after changing these values.
