Restrict Use of PS4 Features
If minors will be using the PS4™ system, parents or guardians can restrict the use of its features as necessary. Adjust these settings by selecting items from [Parental Controls] > [Restrict Use of PS4 Features].
The parental controls passcode must be entered to set or change each item. The default passcode is "0000".
This setting is applied to all users on the PS4™ system.
You can restrict the starting of applications and playing of content such as videos that have age limitations.
In addition to [Allow], 11 levels can be set. The lower the parental control number, the tighter the restriction. The default setting is .
Whether an application or content can be used depends on the combination of the parental control level set on the PS4™ system and the level of the application or content. For example, if you want to restrict applications or content with a parental control level of "4" or higher, set the PS4™ system's level to .
Verifying the level of the application or content
Select the application or content from the content area, press the OPTIONS button, and then select [Information].
If an application or content has restrictions, the parental control level appears in the [Parental Control] field.

- These ratings are not compatible with the parental control level of the PS4™ system. Set the PS4™ system's level by referring to the approximate age of users in the table above.

You can restrict the playback of Blu-ray Disc titles that have parental controls.
In addition to [Allow], an age can be set. The lower the age, the tighter the restriction. The default setting is [Allow].
You can restrict the playback of DVDs that have parental controls.
In addition to [Allow] for the [Level] setting, 8 levels can be set. The lower the number, the tighter the restriction. The default setting is [Allow].
[Standard] sets the regional standard for DVD parental controls. You can use this setting in combination with [Level] to control whether a DVD can be played. This restriction is available if the region set on the PS4™ system and the region set on the DVD are the same. The default setting is [United States]. It is usually not necessary to adjust these settings.
You can restrict (Internet Browser) from starting. The default setting is [Allow].
Select [New User] and Log In to PS4
You can restrict the creation of new users. You can also restrict logging in as a guest.
This is to prevent users from logging in if parental controls have not been set for them. The default setting is [Allow].
You can change the parental control passcode. Correctly enter the new passcode 2 times.
If you forget the passcode, you must initialize the PS4™ system. Handle the passcode with care. Do not forget it and do not let third parties obtain it.
