Basic operations for disc playback

The items that appear and operations that you can perform vary depending on the content. Also, some items might not function.

Pause/Play Press the button.
Fast Reverse/Fast Forward Press the L2 button or R2 button during playback.
The speed changes each time you press the button. If you press and hold the button, you can fast reverse or fast forward until you release the button.
Frame Reverse/Frame Forward Press the L2 button or R2 button while playback is paused.
Slow Reverse/Slow Forward Press and hold the L2 button or R2 button for at least 1 second while playback is paused.
Stop Press the PS button.
You can stop playback and return to the home screen. If the disc is capable of continued playback, the next time you play the disc you can resume playback from the point where you stopped.
15 Seconds Back/15 Seconds Forward Flick left or right on the touch pad.
Jump Click the touch pad button, and then drag left or right.

Information is displayed if you press the button during playback or while paused.

Changing audio, subtitles, and other playback settings

Press the OPTIONS button during playback or while paused.

(Pop-Up Menu)
The menu for the disc, such as the pop-up menu or the title list, is displayed.

You can select the subtitle language.

You can select the audio track.

You can display the control panel.

Red/Green/Blue/Yellow Perform the operation corresponding to the icon. Functions assigned to the icon vary depending on the content being played.
Up/Down/Left/Right Use when selecting an item.
Enter Confirm the selected item.
Number keys Enter numbers.
15 Seconds Back/15 Seconds Forward Move to a place in the video 15 seconds back or 15 seconds forward.
Slow Reverse/Slow Forward Play in slow mode.
Frame Reverse/Frame Forward Play 1 frame at a time.
Top Menu Display the top menu.
Return Return to a specific point in the content.
Angle Change the viewing angle.
Information Display playback status and other related information. Items displayed vary depending on the content being played.
Play Play content.
Pause Temporarily pause playback.
Stop Stop playback.
Fast Reverse/Fast Forward Fast reverse or fast forward. Each time you press the button, the playback speed changes.
Previous/Next Go to the previous or next chapter.
Jump Play from a specified chapter or time.
Repeat Play content repeatedly. To turn off the repeat function, select (Repeat) until [Off] appears.
Closed Captions Select whether to display closed captions. They are only displayed when a checkmark is set in (Settings) > [Accessibility] > [Closed Captions] > [Display Closed Captions].

You can set the video output and audio output. The items that are displayed vary depending on the content being played.
Noise Reduction Reduce the amount of noise in recorded video.
Display Mode Set the display format for video recorded in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Dynamic Range Control Set the dynamic range control.
This setting is available only if you select [Linear PCM] under (Settings) > [Audio Format].
Audio Format Set the format for audio output.
Video Playback Settings Adjust settings for the preferred languages, and whether to allow connections to the Internet.
