Preparing for Remote Play

PS3™ system settings

The SSID for remote play connection and the encryption key (WPA key) are set on the PS3™ system. These are set under (Settings) > (Network Settings) > [Remote Play Connection Settings]. For details, refer to the PS3™ system software user's guide.

Hint

A PS3™ system equipped with the wireless LAN feature is required to use the Remote Play feature.

PSP™ system settings

Create a network connection using the SSID and WPA key set on the PS3™ system.

1.

Turn on the PS3™ system, and then select (Remote Play) under (Network).
Make sure that the remote play connection settings have already been made on the PS3™ system.

Select (Network Settings) under (Settings).

Select [Infrastructure Mode].

4.

Select [New Connection].

5.

Select [Scan].
The PSP™ system begins searching for PS3™ systems within range.

6.

Select the PS3™ system's SSID.
This is the SSID that you created in [Remote Play Connection Settings] on the PS3™ system. The SSID of the PS3™ system to be connected for remote play is selected.

7.

Select [WPA-PSK (AES)].

8.

Enter the WPA key.
Enter the encryption key that was set on the PS3™ system. The encryption key you entered is displayed as asterisks.

9.

Select [Easy].
Basic settings are automatically selected.

10.

Check the connection name, and then press the right button.
You can change the connection name to use any name you like.

11.

Confirm the content of the settings list.

12.

Save your settings.

13.

Test the connection.
If the connection is successful, information from the connected PS3™ system is displayed.

Hint

During the connection test, the Internet connection is displayed as [Failed], but the connection can be used for remote play.
