Creating an account    

To make calls to or receive calls from Skype users for free or to use the various types of paid features that are provided by Skype, you must first create an account (Skype Name*). If you already are using Skype on a PC and have an account, you can also use the same account in Skype for the PSP™ system.


User accounts are established directly with Skype and are not managed in any way by Sony Computer Entertainment.


Turn on the PSP™ system, and then select (Skype™) under (Network).


Select [Create New Skype Account].
Connect to the Internet and create an account.


Enter your Full Name.
While you are using Skype, your Full Name is displayed on the screen as part of your profile. Usually, your name or nickname is used. You can enter up to 50 characters. This name can be changed later.


Enter your Skype Name.
Your Skype Name is the name that is set for your account. It cannot be changed later. Enter the Skype Name that you want to set, using a combination of six or more alphanumeric characters and symbols. The characters that can be used are the alphanumeric characters (a-Z, 0-9), and symbols such as hyphen (-), underscore (_), comma (,), and period (.). The first character must be a letter.


Enter your password.
The characters that can be used are the alphanumeric characters (a-Z, 0-9) and symbols such as hyphen (-), underscore (_), at sign (@), comma (,) and period (.).


Enter your e-mail address.


After confirming the Skype user agreement, select [Enter], and then press the right button.
The checkbox for the user agreement is checked and the account is registered.

When account registration is completed, the Skype menu screen is displayed.
