Changing your Skype settings    

You can adjust settings related to your Skype calling status or operation tones.

Select (Settings) from (Tools) on the Skype menu screen, and then select the item that you want to adjust. For information on each setting, see the corresponding explanation below.

  Privacy

This setting limits the calls that are accepted.

Allow Calls From*

Set contacts whose calls are accepted.

Anyone Calls are accepted from all Skype users.
Contacts Calls are accepted from Skype users who have been added to your contact list.
Accepted Calls are accepted from Skype users whose requests to be added to your contact list have been approved.

The [Allow Calls From] setting does not limit calls when (My Profile) > [Status]  is set to [Skype Me™].

Allow SkypeIn Calls From

Set contacts whose SkypeIn calls are accepted. This is displayed when SkypeIn service (a paid feature) is being used.

Anyone Calls are accepted from all SkypeIn users.
Known Numbers Calls are accepted from SkypeIn users whose numbers are reported (caller ID is set).
Contacts* Calls are accepted from SkypeIn users who have been added to your contact list.

The [Contacts] setting allows the same calls as the [Known Numbers] setting when (My Profile) > [Status] is set to [Skype Me™].

  Sounds

This setting turns Skype tones (such as the ringtone) on or off.

Off Tones are turned off.
On Tones are turned on.

  Connection

This setting enables you to select the connection port to be used with Skype to connect to the network. Normally, this port does not need to be changed.
