Organizing photos

Grouping photos

You can select events and then group photos within those selected events using one of the options described below. Select the events that contain the photos that you want to group, press the Triangle button, and then select (Group). If you want to narrow the number of grouped photos, select a group or groups that contain the photos you want to group, and then use another option under (Group) to group the photos.

Date / Time Group by the date and time the photos were taken.
Number of People Group by the number of people in the photos.
Age Group Group according to the relative ages of the people in the photos.
Expression Group by facial expressions of the people in the photos.
Color Group by colors (colours) that appear in the photos.
Camera Type Group by the camera model that was used to take the photos.
Game Group by game title.
Album Group by albums that have been created under (Photo) in the XMB™ screen.

Hints

  • With [Select All], all photos in [Library Area] will be grouped according to the option you selected.
  • Grouping is based on analysis of the photos, and in some cases the results might not be as expected.
  • You can create a playlist of the grouped photos.
Examples of grouped photos: Photos of children who are smiling

Group photos by selecting (Group) > [Age Group].

2.

Select the group labelled [Children], and then press the Triangle button.

3.

Select (Group) > [Expression].
You can view photos with smiling children in the group labelled [With Smiles].

Examples of grouped photos: Photos that show blue skies

1.

Group photos by selecting (Group) > [Number of People].

2.

Select the group labelled [Landscape/Other], and then press the Triangle button.

3.

Select (Group) > [Color].
Look for the photos with blue skies in the group labelled [Blue].

Deleting photos

To delete a photo or album, select the photo or album, press the Triangle button, and then select (Delete).

Hint

If you delete photos in [Library Area], the photos will also be deleted from the system storage of the PS3™ system.
