Operations during remote play
During remote play, PS Vita system or PSP™ system buttons are used to operate the PS3™ system.
Using a PS Vita system to operate the PS3™ system
During remote play, you operate most of the PS3™ system's features using the buttons on your PS Vita system.
You operate several features using the toolbar. Tap the screen to display the toolbar.
Operating the PS3™ system's PS button
This replicates the action of pushing the PS button on the PS3™ system's wireless controller.

Hint
The (PS) icon does not support those operations for which you press and hold the PS button on the PS3™ system's wireless controller for one second or more. To turn off the PS3™ system, tap
(Turn Off System), and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Changing button assignments
You can choose between button assignments [Type 1] and [Type 2]. If you choose [Type 2], you can perform some operations by simultaneously pressing button combinations that are not available on the PS Vita system, such as the L2 and R3 buttons.

Setting the image quality
You can set the image quality [+1], [Standard] or [-1].

Hint
Depending on the network environment, with a high image quality, the video and associated audio might break.
Restoring remote play settings
To clear the device registration and restore button assignments and the image quality setting to their default values:

Hint
You can also restore the settings from the screen where you select the remote play connection method. Tap (Options) > [Settings] > [Restore Settings] and follow the on-screen instructions.
Switching the screen mode
You can switch the screen mode by double tapping the screen.
Hint
You cannot switch the screen mode when the toolbar is displayed on the screen or while playing a game.
Using a PSP™ system to operate the PS3™ system
If you are using a PSP™ system for remote play, when you press the PS button (HOME button), a menu for operating the PS3™ system appears.
Menu items
The menu items that are available on the PSP™ system vary depending on the version of the system software in use.

Quit Remote Play | Quit remote play. Quit and Turn Off the PS3™ System: Quit remote play, and then turn off the PS3™ system. Quit Without Turning Off the PS3™ System: Quit remote play and leave the PS3™ system turned on. Select this option if you are using your PS3™ system to copy files, or to perform background downloading and other tasks that require you to keep your system on. |
Settings | Adjust settings related to the PSP™ system's buttons. Assign Buttons: Use the PSP™ system's buttons in the same way as the buttons of the PS3™ system's wireless controller. Select one of two assignment types. Communication Settings: Set the response speed of the PSP™ system buttons. Select one of five levels that combine response speed with image quality, or select [Custom]. *2 |
