Music Types of files you can listen to with the Music application

  • MP3 (MPEG-1/2 Audio Layer-3)
  • MP4 (MPEG-4 AAC)
  • WAVE (Linear PCM)
  • It might not be possible to play some files of supported types, for example, due to the content or sizes of the files.
  • The Music application cannot play music files that have copyright protection.
  • Some content distributed over the Internet and by other means has playback restrictions. For details, contact the content providers.
  • You can save up to 4,000 files under (Music).*

    Depending on the size of the inserted memory card or the file size per file, files exceeding the maximum number might not be saveable.

  • Playlists created with a PS3™ system.
  • Playlists created in iTunes.

You must use iTunes version 10.6.3 or later.
