Watching videos by transferring them to your PS Vita TV system
You can transfer a video that is playing on your PS Vita system to your PS Vita TV system. This lets you watch the video on your TV. Your PS Vita system and PS Vita TV system must be connected to the same network.
- You can also transfer content to the PS Vita TV system from other devices connected with your PS Vita system. Connect your PS Vita system with a PS3™ system, a PC (Windows®/Mac), or a nasne™ system.
- Content purchased or rented from PlayStation®Store cannot be played.
- Playback might not be possible, depending on your network environment and the type of content.
Playing content
You can play content when your PS Vita system is within the range of a wireless access point. Operate your PS Vita system close to the access point.
Before performing these procedures, you need to do the following:
- Link a Sony Entertainment Network account with your PS Vita system and your PS Vita TV system. If you want to transfer content from another device, also link the same Sony Entertainment Network account with that device.
If you have an account that was created on a different device, such as a PS3™ system or a computer, you can sign in using that account. - Configure your PS Vita system so that it can connect to the same access point your PS Vita TV system is connected to. If you want to transfer content from another device, also configure it to connect to that access point.
- On your PS Vita TV system, close all open applications.
- Update the system software of the PS Vita TV system to version 3.00 or later.
- If using one of the following devices, update its system software to the designated version:
- For a PS3™ system, update to version 4.50 or later.
- For a nasne™ system, update to version 2.00 or later.
- Using

- Control for HDMI is a feature that enables interoperability of connected devices using the CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) specification. This is part of the HDMI specification. Control for HDMI is available only on compatible Sony devices. Products developed by other companies that support the CEC specification may be operable using Control for HDMI, but there is no guarantee that all features are compatible with these products.
