PlayStation® format software menu

If you press the PS button (HOME button) while playing PlayStation® format software, a menu will be displayed. Menu items that are displayed vary depending on the software.

Quit Game

Screenshot

Save a screenshot of the game during gameplay. The screenshot files are saved in the storage media that contains the game (Memory Stick™ media or system storage) and can be viewed under (Photo).

Switch Discs

Some games that are downloaded (purchased) from (PlayStation®Store) require that you switch discs virtually. If a message asking you to switch discs is displayed during gameplay, press the PS button (HOME button), and then select this menu item to switch discs virtually.

Controller Settings

Adjust controller settings during gameplay.

PSP™ System Controller

Adjust settings related to the PSP™ system's buttons or to the controller port.

Assign Buttons Change button assignments on the PSP™ system.

Select the button assignment type that you want from among five types. If you select [Custom] you can assign your favorite buttons.
Assign Controller Ports Change the controller port or number assignment.

If the controller port or number is specified by the software, assign the appropriate controller port or number.

PS3™ System Controller  

Adjust settings for the PS3™ system controller that is being used to operate the PSP™ system.

Assign Controller Ports Change the controller port or number assignment.

If the controller port or number is specified by the software, assign the appropriate controller port or number.
Switch Analog Mode*1 Change the controller mode.

Select a mode that is supported by the software. Note that some software will automatically select the mode.
Vibration Function*2 Turn the vibration function on or off.

This option is only available when using a controller that supports the PS3™ system's vibration function.

If this option is set to [Analog Mode] when you are playing software that does not support analog mode, you may not be able to use the controller to operate the software. If the controller cannot be used to operate the software, set the option to [Digital Mode].

If this option is set to [On] when you are playing software that does not support the vibration function, you may not be able to use the controller to operate the software. If the controller cannot be used to operate the software, set the option to [Off].

Memory Card Utility

You can import saved data from another internal memory card to the internal memory card for the game that is currently being played. You can also delete the saved data that was imported to the internal memory card. For details about internal memory cards, see (Game) > [Playing games downloaded from PlayStation®Store] > [Saved data from PlayStation® format software] in this guide.

Importing saved data

1.

Select the internal memory card to which you want to import the saved data.

 

2.

Select [Import] from the menu that is displayed.

 

3.

Select the internal memory card on which the saved data that you want to import is saved.

 

4.

Select the icon for the saved data that you want to import.

Hint

Importing saved data from another game to an internal memory card may cause game progress or content to change in some games.


Deleting saved data

1.

Select the internal memory card on which the saved data that you want to delete is saved.

2.

Select [Delete] from the menu that is displayed.

3.

Select the saved data that you want to delete, and then select [Yes].

Other Settings

You can adjust other settings such as settings for the screen display.

Screen Mode Select the screen mode that you want to use.

Select from [Original], [Normal], [Zoom], [Full Screen] or [Custom]. If you select [Custom], you can customize the size of the screen.
Black Level Adjustment If the screen is difficult to see, use this setting to adjust its brightness.

Select from [-2], [-1], [Normal], [+1] or [+2].
Volume Adjustment Adjust the volume.

Select from[Normal], [+1] or [+2].
Disc-Load Speed* Set the data loading speed for games.

Select from [Normal] or [Fast]. You can usually select [Normal].

Although the data loading speed increases when you select [Fast], the effect may not be noticeable or images may become distorted on some games.
