PlayStation®Plus is a membership service for PlayStation™Network.
As a PlayStation®Plus member, you can purchase specific content at special prices, automatically download game and system software update files, and enjoy other added features.
You can purchase a PlayStation®Plus subscription service membership from PlayStation®Store, in the same way you purchase other items.
Upon purchase of a PlayStation®Plus subscription, the (PlayStation®Plus) icon will be displayed next to your avatar on your profile screen, as well as with features or PlayStation®Store content exclusive to PlayStation®Plus.

- When you have an account with a PlayStation®Plus subscription on a device such as a PS3™ system and you link that account to your system, PlayStation®Plus benefits extend to your system.
Using automatic update features
With a PlayStation®Plus subscription, the update files for applications are automatically downloaded, and your trophy information is automatically synchronized with the PlayStation™Network servers.
- To use this feature, you must select the (Settings) > [Start] > [PlayStation™Network] > [Automatic Update Settings] > [Update Automatically] checkbox to set a checkmark to enable the setting.
- Some services require that your system is connected to the Internet using a Wi-Fi connection to update automatically.
Copying saved data to the PlayStation™Network servers
With a PlayStation®Plus subscription, saved data for games you played on your system can be copied to the PlayStation™Network servers. You can also download copied saved data to other PS Vita systems, PS TV systems, or PS3™ systems. For details, see "Uploading and downloading saved data".
