Parents or guardians may control the playing of content and the use of features on the PS Vita system.
Setting your passcode
First, you must set a password called a passcode. You must enter the passcode when you make the parental control settings or whenever you change them.
When you are prompted to enter the passcode, enter the four-digit number and tap [OK].
If you forget your passcode, you must restore your PS Vita system. Handle your passcode with care. Do not forget it and do not let third parties obtain it.
Parents or guardians can limit the starting of applications or the playing of content, such as video content, with parental control restrictions.
In addition to [Off], eleven levels can be set. The restriction will be tighter when you set the lower numbers.  is the default setting.
Whether or not an application can be started or content can be played is determined by the combination of the level set on the PS Vita system and the level set on the application or the content to be played.
Verify the restriction level for the application
- Touch and hold on the home screen.
The home screen will enter the edit mode.
- Tap the application icon, and then tap [Information].
On an application with parental control restrictions, the restriction level appears in the [Parental Controls] field.

In the (Videos) application, tap (Information) for the content on the list that you want to verify. On content with parental control restrictions, the restriction level appears in the [Parental Controls] field.

For example, to restrict playback of content that has a parental control level ("A" in the chart below) of "5", adjust the parental control level on the PS Vita system ("D" in the chart below) to .

In order to change the settings to a more restrictive level, you must close all the applications in use.
This option allows parents or guardians to set whether the (Browser) application can be started.

Enter the current passcode, and then enter the new passcode. For verification, you must enter the new passcode twice.
