Photos Taking photos and videos

You can take photos and videos with both the front camera and the rear camera.

(Viewing Mode)
Select the icon to switch to viewing mode, where you can browse and view photos and other images.

(Panoramic Camera)
Select the panorama image to turn on the panoramic camera and take panoramic photos.

Select the thumbnail to view your photos and videos using the full screen.

(Location Data)/ (Switch Cameras)
(Location Data) is displayed when the setting for using location data on your system is turned on. Select (Location Data) to obtain location data. Your system finds your location using Wi-Fi access points, GPS satellites* and cell phone base stations*. When your system finds your location, the location data icon turns green (). When you take a photo, your location is added to information stored in the photo file.

(Photo Mode)/ (Video Mode)
Select the icon to switch between photo mode and video mode.
G )
(Shutter)/ (Record Video)/ (Stop Recording)
In photo mode, (Shutter) is displayed. Select the icon to take a photo.
In video mode, (Record Video) or (Stop Recording) is displayed. Select the icon to start or stop recording.
You can also use the R button on your system to take photos, or to start and stop recording video.
  • You can hide controls such as the operation buttons by tapping the screen. Tap the screen again to display the controls.
  • You can turn the use of location data off or on in (Settings) > [Start] > [Location Data] > [Use Location Data].
  • (Switch Image Size) and (Location Data) are not displayed while you are recording a video.
  • Each video can be up to 30 minutes in duration.
  • You cannot raise, lower or mute the volume of the shutter sound, or change the shutter sound to a different sound.

Taking a panoramic photo

Select (Photos) > (Panoramic Camera) to turn on the panoramic camera.

Select the icon to select a panoramic mode.

(Back)
Select the icon to delete the last shot you took for the panoramic image.

Your most recent panoramic photo
Select the thumbnail to view your most recent panoramic photo.

(Location Data)
(Location Data) is displayed when the setting for using location data on your system is turned on. Select (Location Data) to obtain location data. (Shutter)/ (Stop shooting)
Select the icon to start or stop recording.

Point your system in the direction you want to shoot, and then select (Shutter) to start shooting. Follow the screens to operate the camera.

  • You can also shoot by pressing the R button on your system.
  • You can hide controls such as the operation buttons by tapping the screen. Tap the screen again to display the controls.
  • While shooting, (Panoramic Modes) and the thumbnail of your most recent panoramic photo are not displayed.
  • You cannot raise, lower, mute or change the shutter sound.
  • Panoramic photos are saved under [Camera Images].
